From: JGomez Date: Fri, 29 Mar 2002 23:15:02 EST Subject: Another entry To: ikonline@yahoo.com

Title: Box of Sunshine

A small plexiglass box, on the outside printed on the top, in gold lettering the word "Sunshine". Inside, a small battery powered light. When the box is opened, the light is triggered, and turns on. So, you open the box, and you get "sunlight".

"What's hidden in an empty box? So that is another submission I want entered into the contest:

"A Clue To What Is Hidden Inside An Empty Box!

Just that line above this one. Thank you.

pinnochio

From: Melba Subject: Remix Event Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 10:00:49 -0500

I would like to see Pinnochio's nose with Yoko's smile in the box, because then there would never be anymore lies.

box of peace

To: ikonline@yahoo.com From : PETERSEN,JOANNE Subject: Remix event Date: Thu, 14 Mar 2002 10:12:50 -0800

In the light of today's current events, and in keeping with Yoko's NYC billboard, I propose:

BOX OF PEACE

Inside, a picture of the earth from space, with people of all nationalities/countries holding hands encircling the globe.

Or inside, a mirror, to reflect our peaceful minds and attitudes :-)

Or inside, the picture from John's Imagine album with the word IMAGINE (I think I like this option the best!)

box of hope

From: Johnlennonlv Date: Tue, 12 Mar 2002 07:52:54 EST Subject: re-mix your box event

i think a good idea would be "BOX OF HOPE" when you open the box you see the picture of a child. the child is standing holding a sign saying "YES".

a box of bag

From: CRMander Date: Sun, 10 Mar 2002 16:04:37 EST Subject: RemixEvent

Allow me to introduce you to

A BOX OF BAG

INSTRUCTIONS

Open the box. Inside it, you will discover a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag.

In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag...

at this moment (if you are still awake) you have a startling Eureka! moment as the profound significance of this piece hits you like an apple on the head.

You open the next box, inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag. In the bag, you will find a smaller box inside which is a bag...

and this continues until just after the moment at which boredom sets in when, all of a sudden, you reach the final box inside which IS... a bag... and inside that is... a Nutopian passport (I take one with me wherever I go)

by Christopher Mander

P.S. I remember the first time I heard 'Open Your Box' aged 15 at 5a.m. in Paris in August 1971. I'd spent a whole month on a small French island as an exchange student where I'd bought a copy of 'Power To The People/Open Your Box'. Problem was: I couldn't find a record player (remember those?) on the island so I had to wait for my return to England before I could hear it. A whole month is a long long wait when you're 15 and you've just bought a new single. At last: overnight train to Paris, met by my cousin then straight to her place and, more importantly, her record player. So there I was, plugged in at 5a.m., hearing 'Open Your Box' for the first time and trying to work out what it meant. Which was good. There was a lot of working out to do in those heady days ('Woman Is The Nigger Of The World' etc.) and it made me into who I am now. So there.

box of dreams

From: JGomez Date: Mon, 4 Mar 2002 22:06:38 EST Subject: RemixEvent

My first entry is "Box of Dreams". On the outside of a white box, in inscribed "Box of Dreams". When opened, the box is filled with bits of paper. On each bit of paper, is written one of your dreams. When one of your dreams is achieved, remove it, set it on fire, so the energy can be put back into the universe. After each dream is achieved, a new dream is scribbled on a small bit of paper and put into the box, for no one should be without a dream.....

thanks, jerry gomez

box_of_love

From: Johnlennonlv Date: Sun, 3 Mar 2002 00:12:59 EST Subject: REMIX YOUR BOX EVENT 2002

Dear IK online, my name is Brittany Johnson, and here are my ideas.

BOX_OF_LOVE you will open the box, and instead of seeing a mirror you will see the cover of "milk and honey" or a picture of John,Yoko, and Sean all together.

box_of_grapefruit

From: Johnlennonlv Date: Sun, 3 Mar 2002 00:12:59 EST Subject: REMIX YOUR BOX EVENT 2002

My other idea is BOX_OF_GRAPEFRUIT.

you will open the box and see the entry from Yoko's book "Grapefruit" "and as john says: "A is for parrot as we can plainly see" because it cannot plainly be seen.

box_of_sky

From: Johnlennonlv Date: Sun, 3 Mar 2002 00:12:59 EST Subject: REMIX YOUR BOX EVENT 2002

BOX_OF_SKY or you could put the sky drawing instruction piece (from "Grapefruit") in it. (the piece where yoyu are instructed to cut out two holes to make a sky only the holes could be cut out! )

thank you for listening. *~Britt~*

open your box

From: Specialtyknives Date: Sat, 2 Mar 2002 12:04:11 EST Subject: RemixEvent

Imagine a beautiful box that you found had been delivered to your front door. You were not expecting any such deliveries, and it's not your birthday or Christmas. But, when you look at the return address label you recognize the address as that of a very dear friend! You had a very horrible day until that moment. Suddenly, everything seems to be going in the right direction! So, OPEN YOUR BOX!

Open Your Box and Find Love

From: "Don Boyd"

This is a bit late but here is my "Open your Box," entry:

Title: Open Your Box and Find Love

Description: A small cardboard box, bright color, perhaps orange or yellow, 6 to 8 inches square, 2 inches deep, typical box, lid comes off. Inside, dozens of the little translucent finger tips such as a mail sorter might use. The one I have has little protrusions or bumps on it like a Kusama sculpture. Fill the box with these.

The Cover: Large, boild. block, sans serif letters similar to Yoko's Original type.

That's it. A great idea! (Your contest) -Don Boyd
