IMAGINE PEACE

A few days ago, in March 2003, ads by Yoko Ono started to appear in newspapers across the USA. They simply said : IMAGINE PEACE, and below they are signed 'Yoko Ono - 2003'

the S F Chronicle placement got widely noticed on the web

These original ads in USA papers initially carried her signature : she wanted to put her name on to express her committment and to encourage others by it.

This page is an invitation to join in the peace campaign. But from this point on Yoko wishes her name to be deleted from the peace ad, since, she says, "it now belongs to all people." The text should simply read IMAGINE PEACE -- and then at the bottom, we think it'd be great if it could carry some suggestion for re-use, to help spread the message further along.

The downloadable files are now up & available - if you wish, you can use them for posters, flyers, stickers, postcards.

If you can't work with stuffit, then I could email it to you directly.

D.I.Y.

You can make your own stickers VERY inexpensively with a laser printer - with ADDRESS LABELS!

a - you download the PDF file from my site

b - you can use this IMAGE into Word

c - in Word , you just use the print label function

I got a box of 3000 labels [ no name brand] for 14$CDN recently. that's less than 10$US

If you use AVERY or imitation AVERY stickers from somewhere like OFFICEDEPOT, you can get templates on the AVERY sites to use with them, or even easier they're calculated within WORD as well.

I'm sure there are templates and other glue-y DIY products, such as bumper sized stickers, out there that can be used - sometimes in the "make your own party' section of craft stores

IF you have any other good suggestions for use, please email me at rjoly at cam dot org. IF YOU CARE, PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW YOU USE 'IMAGINE PEACE' VIA ONOVOX , our user friendly discussion listserv. We'd love to read you , see your photos, share ideas and pointers.

Thanks
